Intern at Odd Bug Studio
A Bestiary UI containing mysterious species of aquatic creatures.
This was a career experience hosted by the UK indie Odd Bug Studio. Our focus was to work with artists and devs to produce a small bestiary.
As most of us geared towards ocean horror, we draw inspiration from Dredge, Subnautica and Iron Lung for a sci-fi aquatic bestiary.

Game Implementation
The Bestiary was produced in a months time. We focused rapid iteration; I prioritised designing the UI layout while other artists were drawing concepts and modelling. After everything was completed, I coded in the remaining necessary bits of the UI.
Taking on programming, creating assets and working with the team helped me become more confident and adaptable whilst improving my communication and teamwork.
University Year 3 Final Major Project
A Semi-Open World Action-Adventure RPG Game for our Final Major Project - You are sent down to an island by Pandora as a vessel to remedy any existing conflicts that is disrupting the natural order of said island. Traverse through different seasonal regions to find out what happened, meet characters that are living through the conflicts and maybe learn to love.
A lot of cozy games that involves romance have a really flat relationship system. For example in Stardew, increasing the relationship stat for characters would unlock cutscenes and marriage to get to know them better. However, you achieve that by gift spamming as much as the game allows you to.
It leaves the relationship gameplay feeling one-sided and that the NPC does not do much to earn your friendship/love but to be there to be swayed by the player.
To put it simply, We want players to feel connected to the characters and have the relationship system to actually mean something other than a stat to increase. That you can actually get to know the character throughout the story not by cutscene but by hanging out and helping them with what they might request.
You hold the choice to further develop their relationship or to tend to another, sacrifices will be made and you can’t be there for and with everyone every moment of time.
